Anthony Barfield - Executive Director

Anthony Barfield is the founder of Velocity Music. As a producer, he draws from his diverse musical knowledge to craft some of the most innovative and ear-catching production in hip-hop and R&B today. He has worked with an array of artists, to include Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Young M.A. He has also scored music for film, TV and video games, working for companies such as EA Sports and Genentech.  

As an accomplished composer, Anthony’s classical compositions have been performed throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. He has received commissions from groups such as The University of Kentucky Wind Ensemble and Joseph Alessi of the New York Philharmonic. In 2012, he made his Carnegie Hall debut as a composer where his composition "Here We Rest" was premiered at the New York Wind Band Festival. Anthony holds degrees from The Juilliard School and The Manhattan School of Music where he earned his B.M and then M.M in trombone performance. As a former trombonist, he has performed at the prestigious Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center and has performed with groups such as The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. He later joined the Juilliard staff as a Recording Engineer and Media Production Manager and then the Evening Division Faculty to teach music production.

Anthony currently lives in New York City with his wife Alaina and Pug, Gouda.

ORRIN WILSON - CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Orrin M. Wilson, "Blak Zelda" is a producer and studio musician based in New York City.  Prior on this amazing journey, Blak Zelda has performed with many multi-platinum artists including; Busta Rhymes, Mystikal, and Destiny's Child to name a few.  Blak Zelda studied jazz and classical music at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and received a PHD in Music from The University of Nebraska.  He has also performed in many major venues in New York including Symphony Center, Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall and abroad including La Scala, in Milan and Verdi Theatre in Rome.

While studying music at Manhattan School of Music, his interest grew into producing music and designing sounds.  Blak Zelda is 1/2 of the producing team Velocity Music and serves at the Creative Director of the company. Many of his accomplishments include several degrees in music and collaborations with many professionals in the jazz and the classical world.

Walker Higgins -  Video Production Manager

Walker Higgins is passionate about producing videos of the highest quality. Having worked at The Juilliard School as a Media Production Specialist and Creative Director, and in many different roles in independent film, he is resourceful, has a deep well of experience from which to draw, and is adept at taking a vision and turning it into a reality. He is committed to artistic integrity, professionalism, and getting projects done on time and under budget.
